Known as one of the holiday houses of Dictator Ceausescu’s family, Rotunda Touristic Chalet was utilized to organize the well known hunts of bears, wolves, wild boars, and black goats. Situated at an elevation of 1,160 meters in the Retezat Mountains, the chalet is located on the right side of the Lapusnicul Mare River in Retezat National Park. The Retezat National Park is a natural reservation, and one of the most beautiful protected areas of Europe. Rotunda Chalet’s environs are very attractive for travelers. The chalet is located on one of the most important routes used to reach Poiana Pelegii ( Peleaga’s Glade ), following the way of Poiana Pelegii – Crucea Trasnitului – Ana, Florica, Viorica Lakes – Bucura Lake (the biggest glaciar lake in Romania, located bellow the Peleaga Peak ). Retezat Mountains are a spectacular site, a rare beauty during the hole year: in the summer we are charmed by the vivid flowers of the grasslands, autumn staggers us with the yellow – brown trees and the green of evergreen trees, winter makes the nature look like a fairy tale, and spring reveals the beauty and gentleness of crocuses and snowdrops.
Rotunda Touristic Chalet offers you the possibility to really fall in love with this fascinating mountain, creating a special accommodation for an unforgettable holiday.
